The Kraken rum lands on UK shores
The cult rum The Kraken has followed on from its success stateside by launching into Britain.
The Kraken Black Spiced Rum is distilled in Trinidad and Tobago, and is an altogether different beast than most other spiced rums. The thick liquid aims to mimic the ink and the tentacles of the creature The Kraken is named after, while the flagon-style bottle will make you feel like a pirate captain, trying to escape the mythical beast.
It can be drunk straight to truly appreciate its taste of exotic spices, or in this simple little cocktail, to both refresh and tempt you.
The Perfect Storm
Ingredients:
- 50ml Kraken Black Spiced Rum
- 25ml freshly squeezed Lime Juice
- 5ml sugar syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- Ginger Beer, to top up
Method:
- Build all ingredients over ice in a highball glass (a tumbler).
- Garnish with two squeezed lime wedges.
