Today is National Family Day in America, when it's time to remember the importance of sitting down together as a family. But you don't have to be American for this message to be meaningful.

Barefoot Wine’s Sit Together Seafood Pasta
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of Barefoot Pinot Grigio
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 1 ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1 cup chopped green onions
- 1 cup chopped parsley
- ½ pound shrimp peeled and deveined
- ½ cup shredded Swiss cheese
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 pound dry fettuccine pasta
Method:
- Cook pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water, until al dente.
- Meanwhile, pour cream into large frying pan.
- Cook over a medium heat, stirring constantly until boiling.
- Reduce heat and add herbs, salt, peppers, onions, and parsley.
- Simmer 7-8 minutes, or until thickened.
- Stir in seafood, cooking until the shrimp is no longer transparent.
- Stir in cheeses, blending well.
- Drain pasta then plate.
- Serve sauce over pasta.
Barefoot Wine’s Family Casserole
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 pound sweet Italian sausage links
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup Barefoot Moscato
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 1 large garlic clove, crushed
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cornflour
Method:
- Heat oil over a medium-high heat then cook chicken breasts until well browned.
- Remove chicken and in drippings cook sausages until well browned on all sides.
- To pan add ¾ cup water, Barefoot Moscato, mushrooms, garlic, salt and chicken.
- Bring to boil then reduce heat; cover and simmer 20 minutes or until chicken and sausages are tender, stirring occasionally.
- In small cup, combine cornflour and remaining ¼ cup water until smooth.
- Gradually stir into hot liquid. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens slightly and boils.
