A delicious twist on a traditional recipe using PILGRIMS CHOICE Tasty Cheese.
Ingredients
2 Large onions
50g butter
900g potatoes, peeled, boiled and coarsely mashed
450g green cabbage shredded and steam cooked
Salt and ground black pepper
50g Vegetable oil
150g PILGRIMS CHOICE Red Leicester – grated
6 slices of gammon ham (360g)

Method
1 Fry the sliced onions in half the butter until softened
2 Mix in the potatoes and green cabbage. Season with salt and pepper.
3 Preheat a frying pan and add the remaining butter and oil. Fry the potato mix and keep turning as it becomes crispy on the base.
4 When thoroughly hot, turn off the heat and sprinkle over the cheese. Allow to melt with the heat from the potato mix.
5 Spoon onto plates and serve with slices of cold gammon ham.
Cooks Tip
A great way to use up left over mashed potato and cooked vegetables. Try other chesses in the range such as Pilgrims mature Cheddar.
