To celebrate the landmark birthday, Bacardi have launched a new spiced rum, OakHeart. It took the Bacardi family’s master-blenders a massive five years to develop the new rum, by perfecting the recipe, and trialling it in UK regions before launching it nationally this month.

After years of testing we are proud to launch BACARDI OAKHEART, which delivers a smooth, smoky taste that we know our customers will love.”
OakHeart is made with cinnamon, nutmeg and honey, giving it a smooth and smoky flavour. The drink does taste great on its own, but really lends itself to cocktails. Just as well then that Bacardi have also come up with some brilliant cocktail ideas for OakHeart.
LONG ISLAND SPICED TEA
Ingredients
50ml BACARDÌ OAKHEART
10ml BOMBAY SAPPHIRE gin
12.5ml triple sec gomme
25ml lemon juice
50ml chilled cola
Method
Build in highball over fresh cubed ice, garnish with a fresh lemon wedge.
SPICED MOJITO
Ingredients
50ml BACARDÌ OAKHEART
25ml fresh lime juice
2.5ml sugar syrup
10ml chilled soda water
8 fresh mint leaves
1 dash Angostura Bitters
Method
Combine all ingredients in a high ball or stein glass. Add a dash of chilled soda. Top with crushed ice.
