It's been another busy week in the world of women's sport! Here we take a look at the biggest events of the past seven or so days, read on to discover what went down...

Cricket

Now that the Women's Big Bash League is done and dusted, the focus is on international cricket and we start off in New Zealand where India beat their hosts 2-1 in their three-match ODI series.

The visitors won the first ODI by nine wickets on the back of a century from opener Smriti Mandhana and they then took an unassailable lead in the series when they won the second match by eight wickets with Mandhana notching up an unbeaten 90 from 83.

New Zealand saved face in the final match when they won by eight wickets thanks to half-centuries from Suzie Bates and Amy Satterthwaite.

Sri Lanka are currently in South Africa, but they find themselves 2-0 down in the three-match series after the hosts claimed contrasting wins in the opening two matches.

South Africa won the first T20 by seven wickets on the back of a three-wicket haul and a 55-ball 71 from captain Dane van Niekerk.

It was a tighter affair in the second match as Sune Luus picked up five for 13 as South Africa restricted the visitors to 106, but they made hard work of their chase and eventually won by one wicket with just one ball to spare.

Over in the United Arab Emirates, the West Indies have won their T20I series against Pakistan 2-1.

After winning the opening match by 71 runs on the back of an unbeaten 60-ball 90 from Deandra Dottin, the Windies made it 2-0 when they won the one-over eliminator in the second T20I.

Both teams finished on 132 in their 20 overs and Dottin was again the hero as she smashed 18 from the super over before the bowlers restricted Pakistan to one run.

Pakistan, though, managed to avoid the clean sweep as they won the final match by 12 runs with Nida Dar (53) and Anam Amin (3/34) the match winners.

Football

The weather caused havoc during the fourth round of the FA Women's Cup, but holders Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City managed to make it through to the next round.

Defending champions Chelsea booked their fifth-round ticket with a 2-0 win over Everton thanks to goals from Drew Spence and Hannah Blundell while a hat-trick from 16-year-old Ruby Grant helped Arsenal to a comfortable 4-0 win over Crawley.

The ever-impressive Nikita Parriss scored a brace in Women's Super League leaders Manchester City's 3-0 victory over Watford.

In other results, West Ham United beat Blackburn 3-1 and Manchester United were 2-0 winners over Brighton.

Rugby

The 2019 Women's Six Nations got underway this weekend and defending champions France and 14-time winners England were the big winners as both teams racked up half-centuries.

Reigning Grand Slam winners France brushed aside Wales 52-3 with hooker Caroline Thomas notching up a hat-trick and wing Lea Murie added a brace.

England were equally impressive during their 51-7 thrashing of Ireland in Dublin in the tournament opener on Friday.

Fly-half Katy Daley-McLean added 16 points (a try, four conversions and a penalty) during the win that saw England run in eight tries.

Despite the big win, England head coach Simon Middleton warned there is plenty of room for improvement.

"There’s lots and lots to work on especially with our execution, but both defensively and offensively I thought we’d taken some of the stuff we’ve been working in training on, so really pleased with that," he said.

"In the second half it was about getting some of the girls off the bench and into international rugby, and getting as many minutes into them as possible."

Italy also opened with a bonus-point win as they beat Scotland 27-8 in Glasgow through tries from loose-forwards Ilaria Arrighetti, Giada Franco and Elisa Giordano, and centre Beatrice Rigoni.

Tennis

Serena Williams has served up another great ad, this time for dating app Bumble. In it she encourages women to "make the first move, don't wait to be told your place, take it. Don't wait for people to find you, find them. In work, in love, in life."

World No 8 Kiki Bertens won her eighth WTA Tour title when she beat Donna Vekic in the St Petersburg Ladies Trophy final.

Teenager Dayana Yastremska claimed her second WTA Tour trophy when she beat Ajla Tomljanovic in the Thailand Open final. The 18-year-old Ukrainian beat Tomljanovic 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3).
