Welcome back to our weekly feature series, True Crime Tuesday! This week will be a little different to those we've had in the past, as we'll actually be spotlighting a podcast set to debut in a couple of weeks.
Available on Apple, Spotify, Acast and all podcast providers weekly, from Tuesday September 10th, Unheard: The Fred and Rose West Tapes will see one reporter give unprecedented insight into how a writer investigated one of the biggest crime stories of the twentieth century.
Howard Sounes is that reporter, who, in 1994, received a tip-off call that pulled him into a case bigger than he could have ever imagined. As the first to break stories about serial killers Fred and Rose West, he became one of the most celebrated writers of the time.
Now, he's revisiting the largest story of his career as the host of this new podcast, taking audiences step-by-step through recordings of his investigations, interviews and reflections on analogue cassette tape.
Including interviews with close family members of Fred and Rose, as well as friends and lodgers at 25 Cromwell Street, and even survivors who just managed to escape, this is an all-access look at some of the most infamous killers in British criminal history.
The married couple abducted, tortured and murdered women and girls during their time undetected by the authorities, even burying many of their victims under their own home. Two of those found within their grounds were their own children.
