They recently joined forces with Olay to help young women across the UK #FaceAnything life throws at them
A survey found that 60% of women experience negative labels at least once a week with ‘too emotional’ (32%), ‘too bossy’ (21%) and ‘too girly’ (19%) revealed as the most common. Motivated to do something about this, Young Women’s Trust and Olay have joined forces to support young women across the UK facing inequality. The #Faceanything campaign sees ambassadors including Tanya Burr, Lady Leeshurr, Jazmin Sawyer and Em Ford share their stories for the first time ever to help create the space for women to throw off the labels and rise up. You too can join the campaign by visiting www.youngwomenstrust.org/faceanything
Their vision is a society where all young women have the freedom to choose work that fosters their talents and are paid fair wages in secure workplaces
They have found that there are over 1 million young women across the country struggling because they are out of work or trapped in a low paid, insecure job and their mission is to develop young women’s knowledge and skills, raise their voices and create workplaces free from discrimination and inequality.
They work in three main ways
They provide direct support to young women to develop their skills and wellbeing, they carry out research and campaign for change and they give young women a voice by building a movement to help them to speak out on the issues that matter to them.
You can get involved by helping to campaign for change
Young Women’s Trust are calling for employers to stop asking job applicants how much they earn and include salary details in adverts to help close the gender pay gap. You can sign your name here: https://www.youngwomenstrust.org/campaign-for-us
They have been helping women in the workplace for over 150 years!
They were originally the YWCA England & Wales but they then relaunched as Young Women’s Trust with a new vision and direction, shaped by the young women they work with.
