This week...
With Halloween right around the corner, we're getting in the mood for all things spooky! So, after a recent episode of Dragula in which Michael Varrati was serving as a guest judge, we heard that he had a podcast all about the weird and wonderful world of queer horror!
In Dead for Filth, host Varrati invites a selection of hand-picked guests to chat all about why the genre of horror is so special to them, as well as some of their behind-the-scenes knowledge and gossip.
These guests range from voice actors, to those who make their living in front of the camera, and others who know a little about what it is to be a creep!
A personal favourite sees RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars winner Alaska Thunderf*ck 5000 jump on board - someone who certainly isn't afraid to let her opinion be known!
A bit about the host...
Varrati isn't just a host who's been brought on board because of his good looks and conversational manner. He's a screenwriter, columnist and actor primarily known for his work within the horror genre, including a number of TV movies.
Some of his most memorable flicks include the anthology film Tales of Poe, which he worked on with filmmakers Bart Mastronardi and Alan Rowe Kelly; and a short about homosexual aliens called Crash Site, which he collaborated on with Richard Griffin.
Each year since 2013, Varrati has also served as the host and moderator of the Queer Fear panel at San Diego Comic Con. In-depth discussions of LGBTQ+ issues and high-profile guests such as Bryan Fuller and Guinevere Turner has made it one of the must-see panels of each convention.
Where to follow...
