The best thing that can happen when somebody starts verbally attacking members of the LGBTQ+ community is for them to then inadvertently identify themselves as a member of said community. Such a satisfying moment occurred when celebrity chef James Martin expressed his displeasure with regards to "P.C. b****cks".
For some reason, the 47-year-old got very angry over the fact that Fireman Sam had been axed as a fire brigade mascot for not being inclusive to women, but then he inexplicably changed course and started attacking gender identity.
"Right that's it, Fireman Sam is the last straw I'm done with this pc b****cks and 100 identities being taught", he wrote. Unfortunately, in an attempt to be funny, he then continued:
"In a last stand to this outrageous madness I now wish to be known as an Otter. I like other Otters and when you get bored of this crap in the world join me under water with other Otters, both male and female, and call enough and an end to this madness."
As many members of the LGBTQ+ community will know, an "otter" is a word used to describe a thin and hairy gay man. Sort of in between a bear and a twink. And if you're still confused, here's your mini gay glossary so that you may never make James Martin's mistake:
Bear - A gay man who tends to be large, hairy, butch and sometimes mistaken as heterosexual.
Cub - A young gay man who is often hairy and heavy-set, and likely to grow into a bear.
Otter - A hairy yet lean gay man; not quite as hairy as a bear and not quite as young as a twink.
Flamer - A particularly effeminate or camp gay man.
Twink - Like a chicken, he is a gay man who is generally small and youthful, with little facial or body hair.
Chicken - A young or young-looking gay man (or sometimes an underage boy) who is often pretty in the face and sexually naive.
