Welcome to our brand new series, Feel Good Friday, in which we'll be bringing you a selection of stories, videos, GIFs, memes, pictures and more, to put you in the best mood for the weekend!

This week, we're shining a spotlight on the story of a young boy who decided, instead of cashing in his livestock premium winnings following a County Fair, instead decided to donate the entire amount to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The Western Reserve Local Schools seventh grader was called a "hero" by the school district, and has been praised online for the move.

In a post on Facebook, Western Reserve Schools wrote: "A young man lives amongst us who should be an example to us all. WR 7th grader Diesel Pippert donated all of his livestock premiums to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital today at the Huron County Fair large animal sale."

Pitbull saves owner from shark

Pitbulls don't have a great reputation, but we think they're simply misunderstood. One in particular showed tremendous loyalty to his human, when his owner was attacked by a shark.

At just one-years-old, Darby was with his owner James White, who was fishing from shore in Bodega Bay in Sonoma County, California. When White felt something big on the end of his line, he couldn't have guessed what was going to happen next.

Attempting to remove the hook from the six-feet long, sevengill shark he had picked up, the shark flopped and sank its teeth into his leg.

Speaking with NBC Bay Area, White explained: "Immediately there was blood everywhere, the first bite punctured an artery. The pressure was intense."

Darby the pitbull launched himself at the shark, biting into the gills, which caused the shark to sink its teeth deeper. Realising this wasn't working, Darby then grabbed the shark's tail and pulled it from White's leg. The shark was then put back into the water by White, where it swam away.
