For years women have been paving the path for entrepreneurs in almost every industry. Although most entrepreneurs and executives still tend to be men, women are becoming business leaders and innovators too. Behind every successful entrepreneur today, be it a man or woman, there is a long journey full of ups and downs before they finally make it to the top. There is no magic wand that launches an entrepreneur effortlessly out of their cubicle confinement. For some, it takes years to be able to live the dream of becoming their boss.
As business ownership amongst females continues to grow, it has become more crucial for a woman to be tough and resilient. Resilience becomes an utmost necessity for a woman who decides to take the path of entrepreneurship. The road to success as an entrepreneur comes with many challenges, mentally as well as financially.
Many females have been sending shockwaves in entrepreneurship lately. Over the past few years, there has been a great upsurge in self-made women in business, and Dalma Daniela is no exception. She is set to change the world in her unique way and leave a lasting legacy for generations to come. Daniela is a cultural enthusiast and a fully bilingual digital marketer. Her broad experience working for corporations, brands, and agencies has enabled her to establish a reputation for herself in each field she has entered.
As hard as it is for a female entrepreneur, Daniela's entrepreneurial journey, too, has been full of twists. It dates back to when she set off on a journey to defy the norms of her hometown. Daniela rose to fame when she began doing cultural presentations in Colombia and developed an art display named "Entre Notas y Art." She has explored different career efforts to be able to devote her life to doing what she wishes. She began her career as a digital strategist the same year and has spent the last ten years working for businesses in Colombia and the United States.
Daniela attended Universidad Autónoma del but dropped out during the second semester after studying communication and media studies. She acquired the educational equivalent of a bachelor's degree in marketing after coming to the United States in 2022.
Daniela's journey from English teacher and translator to where she is today has not been simple. She could see firsthand that there were several things she needed to learn before transitioning from a career that had grown over time to entrepreneurship.
TGI Friday signed Daniela as a senior events planner in 2013. Her job was coordinating reservations and events to promote restaurants in collaboration with local companies. During her time working with TGI Friday, Daniela was employed as a cultural organizer and keynote speaker at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barranquilla. She conceived, coordinated, and organized the art exhibition "Entre Notas y Arte," a musical showcase in which she offered cultural lectures and presentations about renowned pop culture celebrities, bands, and twenty-first-century musicians while working at the museum.
She has starred in many Colombian TV series, including 'Love Motel' and 'Contacto Online' on Telecaribe. She is set to appear in the forthcoming indie films The Sovereign and Lime & Vinegar in 2023. She has published several songs, including Rain of Love and Regálame un Like. Daniela has conducted research and studies in the areas of creative leadership, filmmaking, self-expression, and authenticity. She also operates a personal brand and has over 35,000 Instagram followers.
Her adaptability and resilience are two of her most valuable traits, and she is unafraid to challenge societal norms. She actively looks for opportunities to challenge the status quo, break stereotypes, and create a new culture for her audience to enjoy through meaningful and engaging posts that include thought-provoking reels, comedic skits about her experience as an immigrant in the US, and creative cover versions of her eclectic musical tastes.
Daniela received recognition for her initiative "Acustico Barranquilla," a musical event that emphasized sensitizing and fostering bilingualism via various musical genres, including acoustic rock, jazz, and reggae, at the TedX Barranquilla Invisible Humans event in November 2016. She was named one of the "Top Female Entrepreneurs to Follow in 2022" by LA Weekly later in the year. Daniela was named one of NY Weekly's "Top 10 Instagram Accounts to Follow" the same year.
