The 'Boyfriend' singer appeared on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' on Thursday (29.01.15) where he apologised for his erratic behaviour in the past two years, but the DJ - who is dating the musician's ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez - has been left feeling wary about Justin's motives.

A source revealed: "Selena said Zedd was not impressed with Justin's apology on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He's super protective of Selena and doesn't want to see her get hurt by Justin again."

Although the 'Clarity' hitmaker has grown close to the 22-year-old actress and singer, he is moving cautiously forward with their relationship because he doesn't want to get too attached to her until he knows there is no chance of a reconciliation between Selena and Justin.

The source continued: "Zedd's falling hard for her, but at the same time, he isn't ready to fully commit until he's 100% sure that Justin is out of the picture."

In a bid to strengthen their relationship, Selena has now told the producer - whose real name is Anton Zaslavski - she is definitely no longer interested in Justin, who she had an on-off relationship with for more than three years.

The source told Hollywood Life: "Selena told Zedd that Justin's apology doesn't mean anything to her. In fact, when she's with Zedd, she tries not to talk about Justin at all. She is determined to make it work with Zedd."
