Sharon Stone is mourning the loss of her 22-year-old nephew.
The 'Basic Instinct' actress is "devastated" after her older brother Michael Stone's son, Colin Stone, was found dead in Los Angeles earlier this month from a suspected heroin overdose.
The 56-year-old star's family confirmed the tragic news in a statement to UsMagazine.com on Wednesday (19.11.14), saying: "Colin was a wonderful talented son. Unfortunately he had an addiction bigger than himself. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers go out to all families coping with children facing addiction."
A spokesperson for the LA County Coroner's office told gossip website RadarOnline.com that Colin was found dead in his apartment in Hollywood on November 10 "during a welfare check by his apartment manager."
His death was recorded as a "possible overdose, pending toxicology reports."
Sharon had just finished filming 'Life on the Line' with John Travolta when she got the news.
A source told the National Enquirer: "Sharon is devastated! Years ago, she helped Colin's dad - her brother, Michael - get his life back on track after serving time for selling â¨narcotics. Michael was able to escape a life of drugs. Unfortunately, his son was not so lucky."
Michael, 63, was allegedly jailed for two years for possession of a kilo of cocaine when he was younger.
