Gwyneth Paltrow claims she's a "great romantic".
The 42-year-old actress - who split from Chris Martin last March after 10 years of marriage - admits she believes in true love but accepts sometimes the complications of life get in the way.
She is quoted by America's OK! magazine as saying: "I'm a great romantic, but I can be a realist too. Life is complicated and long. Sometimes you can make choices that others are going to judge, and that's their problem. The more I life my life, the more I learn not to judge people for what they do. Most of us are trying out best."
Gwyneth also revealed she'd potentially be prepared to forgive a partner who cheated, and would hope she'd be given a second chance if she stayed.
Asked how she feels about infidelity, the 'Iron Man' star said: "I think that if you are committed to someone and in a relationship that is important to you, you surmount things. Different couples take on different challenges. I'd like to think that I would be forgiven."
Despite her views, the blonde beauty - who has been linked to 'Glee' co-creator Brad Falchuk since her split from Chris - thinks honesty is very important in a relationship.
She said: "I'm extremely open-minded, so if there was authenticity and honesty at the beginning I would be OK - like, if he said, 'This is part of who I am.' It would be hard to be one of those wives who in 20 years find out something had been going on behind her back for her whole life."
