T-Pain claims the 'Two Weeks' hitmaker - whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett - is too busy to collaborate with him in the recording studio as she is currently planning her wedding to the 28-year-old actor.
Asked if the British singer will feature on his upcoming album, the rapper said: "Well, the first time we even met each other, we met in the studio. Her music's changed a lot since then. But she's on tour so much, and anytime I call her, she's in a different place. And she's engaged now, so that's about to be a whole other thing."
When questioned further about the alleged engagement, the rapper told Vulture.com: "Yeah, to ol' Patty [Robert Pattinson]. I don't know if she wanted anybody to know that..."
But shortly after the interview was published today (01.04.15), T-Pain insisted his comments were merely an April Fool's joke.
A source revealed earlier this month that the former 'Twilight Saga' actor surprised his girlfriend of seven months with a promise ring in December in order to show his commitment to her.
The 27-year-old singer has also formed a close bond with Robert's sisters, Lizzy and Victoria, who "adore" her and "totally approve" of their relationship.
