Nicole Kidman and her family feel "shattered" following the sudden death of her father last month.
The 47-year-old actress has been trying to paint on a brave face after her dad Dr. Antony Kidman tragically died on September 12 but she admits she and her relatives are still struggling to come to terms with it.
Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper, she said: "We're pretty shattered right now. Nobody can prepare you for it. It was awful. It's been a pretty rocky road for the past month."
Dr. Antony was laid to rest at St Francis Xavier Church in Lavender Bay, Sydney, on September 19 and Nicole admits that place of worship was chosen because it holds many memories for herself and her loved-ones.
She explained: "A lot of the huge landmarks in my life have happened there. My wedding, my father's funeral, all my childhood, obviously."
The stunning star previously praised her husband Keith Urban, with whom she has daughters Sunday, six, and Faith, three, for helping her deal with her heartbreak.
She said: "I'm incredibly fortunate that I've managed to find an extraordinary man. He has been such a rock for me, through everything, particularly the last few weeks.
"He's just been divine; so full of love and support, as have my children, as has my sister and my mum, we've been through a lot."
Nicole also has adopted children Isabella, 21, and Conor, 19, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise.
