Naomi Watts says "it's not easy watching yourself get older."
The 46-year-old actress hopes she is able to age gracefully, but admits she would never rule out having cosmetic surgery, as she doesn't know how she'll feel about it in the future.
The 'While We're Young' star said: "I don't have any judgement about [plastic surgery]; whoever makes that choice, that's fine."
"It's not easy watching yourself get older, but when I look at two women in their fifties or sixties or seventies side by side, one who's had surgery and one who hasn't, I think one likes themselves a lot more and one looks more dignified and graceful.
"And I hope I get to stay being that woman. But I would never say 'never.' "
The blonde beauty, who has sons, Sasha, seven, and Kai, six, with Liev Schreiber, 47, claims there is still huge pressure on actresses to appear youthful in Hollywood and was shocked when Renée Zellweger was criticised after she displayed an astonishingly different look on the red carpet earlier this year.
She told the February issue of the UK's InStyle magazine: "[The backlash] was cruel and unnecessary. I saw a picture and I thought she looked great! She looked amazing! Leave her alone! You can't win can you?"
