Naomi Watts doesn't want to be held "hostage" by the paparazzi.
The 'King Kong' actress has admitted she finds it "tough" having photographers follow her every move but insists it won't "change" how she goes about her daily life.
She said: "It's tough. The whole paparazzi thing is a big downer. I wish they weren't around so often.
"I probably should care more about the way I look and how I go out. But I can't - I'm a mom. I have to get out the door quickly. Some days I've got it under control, but some days I don't.
"I just wish they weren't around so often capturing those awful moments. Because let's face it: Everyone has their good days and bad days. But whatever - it's not going to make me change my life. I'm not going to be held hostage."
The 46-year-old actress - who has Samuel, six, and Alexander, seven, with her partner Liev Schreiber - also worries how being papped affects her children.
She told Rhapsody magazine: "Of course it's a concern. Everything's a concern as a parent. You worry about your kids whether you're famous or not. You think about everything, in every possible way. You become very analytical: the pros and cons, the do's and don'ts.
"But the fact that there are two famous people as their parents is definitely something we think about and are conscious of. We can't pretend it's not. At the same time, we can do our best to show a completely normal side as well - to do things in the way any other family would."
