Missy Elliott cried "tears of joy" after her Super Bowl performance.
The 43-year-old rapper was overwhelmed by the messages of praise she received on Twitter after joining Katy Perry at the NFL game's half-time show last night (01.02.15) - during which she performed her hits 'Get Ur Freak On', 'Work It' and 'Lose Control' - and felt "humbled" by the reception she received.

"I cried because I've been thru so much but I'm still here & thru the grace of God & u the fans believing in me I love y'all (sic)"
After retweeting a number of messages from fans, she later wrote: "Thank y'all again sorry if I keep saying thank u but I'm just crying tears of joy and humbled! (sic)"
And Missy went on to praise Lenny Kravitz, who had also made an appearance during the show, performing 'I Kissed a Girl' with Katy.
She wrote: "@LennyKravitz I love u 2! Your energy is everything! U slay Thank u @katyperry again I'm very humbled (sic)"
After the game - which saw the New England Patriots triumph over the Seattle Seahawks - Missy joined Katy and her on/off boyfriend John Mayer at an afterparty, sharing a blurred image of herself with the couple on her Twitter page.
