The 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker has got the seal of approval from her sister Brandi, 27, who thinks the star's boyfriend is a "good dude".
Brandi said: "I think she met him through her mutual friend, but we've hung out with him a ton since. He's been great. He's such a nice guy. He's easy to hang out with and be around. He has great friends. He's a good dude.
"I like that they balance each other out. Miley is like a big personality, high energy, and he's super laid-back and easygoing. And they are a good team."
And Brandi thinks the loved-up couple are perfect for each other because they come from similar backgrounds.
She added: "He comes from a big family too. He's got a sister and I think he fits in so well because he kind of comes from the same life we did.
"He has a famous dad [Arnold Schwarzenegger] and stuff. I mean he gets it."
The pair's relationship was rumoured to have hit the rocks recently after Patrick, 21, was seen getting close to his ex-girlfriend but whilst Brandi thinks it's hard to "keep up" with their relationship, she believes things are most likely OK between the couple.
She told Us Weekly magazine: "As far as I know yes, [they're doing OK].
"But you know you never know. Things change every day with everybody. It's hard to keep up."
