Lewis Hamilton is having a "tough time" following his split from Nicole Scherzinger.
The Formula One driver, who recently ended his on-again, off-again relationship with the 'Don't Hold Your Breath' hitmaker after seven years together, thanked his fans for their support and admitted it meant a lot to him.
The 30-year-old British star broke his silence on Twitter today (06.02.15), writing: "Hi everyone. I want to thank you all for the love & support during this tough time. It means the world to me. #TeamLH #bestfansintheworld (sic)."
The heartthrob was later spotted looking glum at Heathrow Airport in London.
Former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole, 36, recently confessed she is also "devastated" by their split.
She said: "I'm devastated that it didn't work out. It was the hardest decision we had to make, but we made it together."
But she hinted they might eventually reconcile for a fifth time in the future.
She said: "I love Lewis and I know he loves me. We wish nothing but happiness and the very best for one another. I'm trying to stay strong in my faith right now."
The duo are rumoured to have had a series of rows over the festive period with one resulting in the racing driver being thrown out of the London apartment owned by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber where Nicole has been staying for the duration of her stint in the West End's revival of 'Cats'.
