Kelly Clarkson wants a baby boy.

The 'Heartbeat Song' hitmaker and her husband Brandon Blackstock are already the proud parents to nine-month-old daughter River Rose and whilst Kelly has revealed she's keen to have a boy, she insists it's simply for the sake of her own health.

Speaking on Zach Sang and the Gang radio show, she said: "My body shut down when I (was) pregnant, it was the worst. I just want one more so I've just got to (go) through it one more time.

"Honestly the only reason I am hoping for a boy is because they usually say if you're sick with a girl, you won't be with the boy.

"And if you are sick with the boy, you won't be with the girl. I'm purely hoping it is a boy so I can have the most magically wonderful pregnancy."

The 32-year-old singer recently revealed she loves being a mother to the "happiest baby on the planet" and her and Brandon can't stop snapping pictures of the little one.

She said: "She is the happiest baby on the planet, but when it's nap time, bedtime, she's like, 'Put me down. I want to lay flat. I want to roll on my own.'

"My husband, last night, was so excited because she was falling asleep while we were feeding her, so he picked her up and we were taking so many pictures ... we have no pictures of her sleeping in our arms. She's a little free spirit already."
