Kanye West believes he is on the same "mission" as the police.
The 'Bound 2' rapper thinks his willingness to help and support others means he has qualities similar to those working in the public service sector.
He said: "I think there are schoolteachers with the exact same mission as me. I think there are police officers with the exact same mission as me.
"Just help. Just do everything you got, give everything you got. Our focus needs to be less about what our legacy is going to be, or how we're going to control each other, but more how can we give to each other."
The 37-year-old rapper - whose wife Kim Kardashian West, with whom he has 22-month-old North, famously tried to "break the internet" by posing naked on the cover of Paper magazine - also insisted he has attempted to shock the internet similarly but instead, through his honesty.
He added to Time magazine: "Every time I crash the Internet, it's like this little drop of truth. Every time I say something that's extremely truthful out loud, it literally breaks the Internet. So what are we getting the rest of the time?"
