Ryan Reynolds was "inconsolable" when his daughter was born.
The 'Woman in Gold' star - who has three-month-old daughter James with wife Blake Lively - has admitted he couldn't help but shed a tear when the 'Gossip Girl' star gave birth to their first child.
When asked about the last time he cried, he told People magazine: "My baby being born. I was inconsolable. I was moved to instant sprinkler head.
Meanwhile, Ryan recently admitted he is worried about his daughter following in his footsteps to Hollywood and would prefer her to lead "a nice normal life."
He said: "You worry about really stupid stuff. And you sort of sit there and go, 'Oh gosh, is she gonna wanna do this?' I like to whisper in her ear, like, really normal everyday jobs - 'You're going to be a flight attendant... A barista... Just normal wonderful jobs. You can have a nice normal life.'"
The 38-year-old hunk is also very protective of his daughter and admitted he would use his wife as a "human shield" to protect their little one if it came to that.
He said: "I used to say to [Blake], 'I would take a bullet for you. I could never love anything as much as I love you.' I would say that to my wife.
"And the second I looked in that baby's eyes, I knew in that exact moment that if we were ever under attack, I would use my wife as a human shield to protect that baby."
