Hayden Panettiere's fiancé is ready to take on "new challenges" after becoming a father.

Wladimir Klitschko says the birth of their first daughter, Kaya, on Tuesday (09.12.14) was one of the highlights of his "great year."

Alongside an image of himself on Instagram, the Ukrainian boxer, 38, wrote: "A review on the year: The birth of my daughter, two successful championship defences and many other achievements on the way. It was a great year and I'm looking forward to 2015. I'm ready to take on new challenges!"

Shortly after Kaya's birth, the 'Nashville' actress and Wladimir said they were "over the moon and madly in love" with her.

Hayden revealed earlier this year that she was "so ready" to become a mother.

She shared: "I'm so ready to hold my baby girl - I'm going to be a very hands on mum.

"I'm thrilled that I am having a girl first because I feel like I know a lot about raising a strong woman. I feel very empowered myself and I think my daughter will, too."

The 25-year-old beauty also previously spoke about her desire to start a family with her fiancé.

She said: "I've lived a very big life, and I don't feel my age, and I feel like I was born to be a mother."
