Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are working with a private mediator to reach a divorce settlement.
The former couple, who split in March 2014 after 10 years of marriage, reportedly have no plans to get back together despite being spotted on holiday in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in recent days.
A source close to the duo, who have daughter Apple, nine, and son Moses, eight, together, says they have been meeting regularly with a mediator to finalise custody, property and financial agreements.
The insider also told gossip website TMZ.com the pair, who are determined to keep things amicable and have no plans to reveal details surrounding their split in court documents, will only file a petition for divorce when they have reached an agreement.
Meanwhile, Oscar winner Gwyneth, 42, is said to be already organising another holiday with Chris, 38, but wants to invite her boyfriend Brad Falchuk, 44, and the Coldplay frontman's rumoured new flame Kate Hudson, 35, along.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "This is classic Gwyneth, trying to turn something totally awkward into a controllable situation. She wants to clear the air with Kate, who was actually becoming one of her own close friends last year so it took her by surprise when she found out about her and Chris.
"She's convinced that going away somewhere, isolated and remote, will make things so much better for everyone."
