Chris Pine has more respect for Broadway stars after taking singing lessons for 'Into The Woods'.
The 34-year-old actor, who stars in the upcoming movie adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award-winning musical 'Cinderella,' alongside Johnny Depp, Meryl Street, Anna Kendrick and Emily Blunt, says perfecting his vocals was an "incredible challenge" but "a lot of fun."
Asked if he had any training before the film, he said: "No. I mean, I've sung in the shower for years and thought I was my own best teacher.
"I went to a singing coach...that was another incredible challenge as well that I have a lot of fun with.
"And I have so much more respect, because I'm not really a musical theatre guy, but I have so much more respect for the art form of it. I mean, if you're doing a show on Broadway that's eight shows a week, the physical exertion I can't even fathom. So it's a wonderful, beautiful art form and I'm so glad I got to be a part of it."
The 'Star Trek' actor felt very comfortable wearing tight velvet trousers in the film.
He told E! News: "The prince pants!
"I had velvet pants, which were very fun...very comfortable actually. When you throw velvet and Lycra [together] a lot of things can happen."
