Cheryl Fernandez-Versini fled from a shark during a recent holiday in the Caribbean.
The 31-year-old beauty was enjoying a swim alongside her husband Jean Bernard Fernandez-Versini when they came across a shark, which prompted them to make a hurried return to the shore.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "It was a very scary experience for them both. There are warnings up about sharks all year round in that part of the world, but nobody expects to actually see one. "The beach was quickly evacuated. Fortunately nobody was hurt, but the sharks in that region can be vicious. Every year people are injured by sharks in the Caribbean, so nobody is complacent. Cheryl was shaken but she was OK."
Meanwhile, Cheryl claimed recently she could have "easily gone off the rails" and has been "very lucky" not to fall in the traps of drink and drugs like other musicians.
Cheryl - who hails from Newcastle-upon-Tyne in north east England - reflected: "I've been very lucky in my life but it could have been very different. I could easily been one of those people who go off the rails.
"Even in my showbiz career. I mean, look at the amount of artists who have been affected by drink and drugs. My life could have gone that way too.
"But thankfully it hasn't and I'm able to show people that if I can do it, any of you can. I came from a worse area than so many people who need help."
