Charlotte Crosby has vowed to "punish" her boyfriend after he told the world they were engaged.
The 'Geordie Shore' star was flooded with messages of congratulations last night (04.03.15) after she apparently tweeted that Mitch Jenkins had proposed, writing "OMG I SAID YES" along with engagement ring and wedding dress emojis, but it has now emerged he sent out the message himself.
Charlotte's 'Geordie Shore' co-star Sophie Kasaei first aired her suspicions, retweeting her friend's message and adding: "MITCH GET OFF CHARLOTTES TWITTER THIS IS NOT FUNNY.(sic)"
And the 24-year-old beauty then confirmed Mitchell had played a prank and vowed he will pay the price.
She wrote: "Soooooooooooo don't ever let you Boyfriend get your phone when your drunk. I'm not engaged and believe me he will be punished today.
"ermmmmm I suppose we could kind of day April fools?!(sic)
Charlotte's co-stars Ricci Guiarnaccio and James Tindale were even taken in by the prank, especially as Mitch had tweeted from his own account: "Only got myself a ball and chain", referring to a slang term for wife, and both sent their congratulations via twitter, only to be put straight by their friend.
The couple - who are currently holidaying in Australia - split in September after 18 months of dating but reunited a few months later.
