Celine Dion's husband René Angélil wants her to get back on stage.
The 46-year-old singer, who is set to resume her residency at Caesars Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas in August after taking a year off to care for her ailing spouse, admits she is "scared of losing him" as he continues to battle throat cancer.
The star, who has 14-year-old son René Charles and four-year-old twin boys, Eddy and Nelson, with her 73-year-old former manager, said: "I am scared of losing him, because it's bad. But I have to show myself, my husband and my kids that I'm strong and we're okay."
Celine decided to postpone her concert series after René had surgery last summer and was devastated when he was recently diagnosed with cancer for the third time.
She told PEOPLE magazine: "When I stopped performing, I wanted to be just a wife and a mother."
But she is now ready to get back on stage for the sake of her husband.
She said: "He wants me to sing again, and I want to do this with him. René will be in the audience [on opening night]. I promise there will be high, happy notes, but it's going to be very emotional for me."
The 'Because You Loved Me' hitmaker recently revealed Renée is unable to speak and receives all of his meals through a tube due to extensive throat surgery.
