Cara Kilbey has suffered a miscarriage five months into her pregnancy.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star and her boyfriend have been left "devastated" by the tragic news.
In a statement, her representative said: "It is with great sadness that I must inform you, that last week Cara Kilbey suffered a late miscarriage. Cara was over five months pregnant when she lost her baby.
"Cara and her partner are devastated at the loss and will not be commenting further on this deeply upsetting matter. I hope their privacy is respected in order to give them time to grieve and seek support."
The 26-year-old television personality later took to Twitter to thank fans and her former co-stars Chloe Sims, Joey Essex and his sister Frankie for their support.
She wrote: "Thank you to everyone for your kind words today to get us through this difficult time. Every single tweet or Instagram comment I have read today has helped me so so much... I am overwhelmed by the love from so many people. Thank You...
"Thank you for your thoughtful kind cards today @FrankieEssex @Chloe_Sims @JoeyEssex_ (sic)"
The representative also thanked, on Cara's behalf, the British charity, Sands, which provides support for those bereaved by similar events.
The statement continued: "Cara would like to thank Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, for their tremendous support.
"As a charity Sands is there to help and support anyone affected by the death of a baby."
