Zsa Zsa Gabor appears to be defying death once again after coughing up blood at her Beverly Hills home on Tuesday (29Mar11).
The actress was taken back to hospital for treatment of a possible lung infection, according to her husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt, who feared the worst.
But the 93 year old is refusing to go without a fight - and Edward Lozzi, a spokesman for Gabor's daughter Francesca Hilton, reveals the ailing actress is not in critical condition.
He says, "She's sitting up and awake. She's not on any oxygen or ventilator."
Lozzi and Hilton have been at odds with von Anhalt over his reports to the media about his wife's health ever since she fell and broke her hip at home last summer (10).
Gabor has been in and out of hospital ever since and in January (11) she had part of her leg amputated to stop the spread of gangrene.
Von Anhalt said Gabor was admitted to UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Westwood last week (24Mar11) after her blood pressure spiked following the news of the death of her friend Elizabeth Taylor.
Lozzi disputed the story, insisting his client was told that her mother had not been admitted to hospital.
The publicist states Hilton is glad her estranged mother is in hospital again - because she knows she is being cared for there.
Lozzi tells the Los Angeles Times newspaper, "It's the only time Francesca knows her mother is being cared for properly and knows exactly what's happening with her mother."
