Tyne Daly returns to Broadway
Tony winner Tyne Daly is returning to Broadway as Maria Callas in the new Terrence McNally production of Master class.
The Judging Amy star 64, will reprise the role of the opera diva next spring, the Manhattan Theatre Club announced on 15 December.
The singer/actress has previously featured in the production at New York's Kennedy Center ealier this year.
Stephen Wadsworth will return as director. Previews begin on 24 May 2011, before opening on 21 June.
Daly received a Tony for her performance in the 1989 revival of Gypsy.
She was last seen on Broadway in David Lindsay-Abaire's 2006 play Rabbit Hole, which has since been turned into a movie by Nicole Kidman.
