Tony Bennett married his long-term girlfriend Susan Crow in
New York City on Thursday (21Jun07).
The 80-year-old star wed his teaching partner, 47, at City Hall in Manhattan.The couple have dated for 18 years.
Bennett has been married twice before, to Patricia Beech and Sandra Grant.
A spokesperson says, "It was a small ceremony." Bennett had musical success during the 1950's and 160's with a string of number one
hits including Becasue of You, Cold, Cold Heart and Blue Velvet.But as the rock and roll era kicked in Bennett began to struggle. By the end of the 1970's
he had no recording contract, no manager and his seond marriage was on the rocks.Bennett married Patricia Beech in 1952 but due to too much time on the road they separated
in 1965 and divorced in 1971. In 1972 he married aspiring actress Sandra Grant but divorced
in 1980.In 1986 he has re-signed with Columbia Rocords releasing the albums The Art of Excellence,
Portrait of the Artist. His tribute album to Frank Sinatra, Perfectly Frank in 1992 and
Fred Astaire, Stepping Out in 1993 both went gold and won Grammys for Best Traditional Pop
Vocal Performance.Since then Bennett has gone from strength touring constantly his music appealing to a
new generation.
