Country star Toby Keith is preparing to release a festive Christmas album this year (07). The musician evenly divided the holiday songs between religious and non-religious songs, working mainly with acoustic instruments.He says, "I did 10 Christian and 10 Santa Claus songs. One disc has White Christmas and Frosty the Snowman kind of songs. The other has very Christian-type songs like Little Drummer Boy and Silent Night." The country singer enjoyed huge commercial success through out the 1990's notching up five number one albums in the Billboard Top Country Albums chart as well as fifteen number one single in the Country Songs chart.The singer has also faced some controversy after September 11 attacks Keith penned the song 'Courtesy of the red, White & Blue (The Angry American)'a song based on the patriotism of his father, who was killed in a car accident in 2001.But after writing the song he would only perform it at his concerts for the military until James L. Jones, Commandant of the the Marine Corps, told Keith it was his duty to record and perform the song.The song became the lead single on the album Unleashed and hit the number one spot.
