Tim Curry has been forced to withdraw himself from an upcoming theatre production after suffering a series of asthma attacks.
The British actor was cast to play the role of the Player in the stage adaptation of Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead.
The show was to start in Chichester, England before moving to the West End at the end of the month.
But the Rocky Horror Picture Show star withdrew himself from the role after contracting a chest infection and suffering several asthma attacks.
A spokesperson for the Chichester Festival Theatre says, “ For the moment the production will continue with the role of the Player taken by Curry’s understudy, Chris Andrew Mellon, while we consider our longer-term options.”
