Comedy movie, The Ladykillers is set to be re-released as a West End play.
It will star Oscar-winner, Peter Capalidi (The Thick Of It), Ben Miller (Johnny English) and James Fleet (The Vicar Of Dibley).
Father Ted and IT Crowd writer, Graham Linehan, is the brains behind the new adaption.
It will be his first comedy West End production in which he hopes to capture a new audience.
He told Click Liverpool: "I wanted to write it from memory rather than the film. So we watched the film and wrote down our favourite moments on little cards and I wrote the play using only the cards.
"Nothing in the film is contradicted, but the reason for giving it a home on the stage is to tweak the characters and an opportunity to explore their backgrounds."
The 1955 film, about a gang of criminals planning to rob a casino, was remade in 2004 by the Coen Brothers, featuring Tom Hanks and won the Jury Prize at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.
Now, the play will open in Liverpool in November this year before being transferred to London's West End.
