Taylor Lautner has been banned from dating until he turns 28.
The 17-year-old actor's father has imposed a strict rule on the teenager, but Lautner insists he understands his parents' reasons for their tough upbringing.
He says, "My dad says I can't date until I'm 28. I'm definitely hoping to negotiate that one down.
"My parents brought me up to have respect and not take things for granted."
But when Lautner does start searching for romance, he knows exactly what he's looking for: "I like girls who aren't uptight and not afraid to be a dork. I dig girls who can let loose and have a fun time."
The young actor shot to fame in the role of Jacob Black in last year's box office hit Twilight but was rumoured to have been dropped from the sequel New Moon.
There were concerns that the teenager wlacked the physical requirements for the role, which sees the character undergo a transformation in the next story.
