Steve McQueen made the racing suit famous in Le Mans
Steve McQueen's racing suit from film classic Le Mans is the latest memorabilia item to be added to what is fast becoming the auction of the year.
The clothing item will join Judy Garland's ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz, Marilyn Monroe's wedding ring, Bela Lugosi's Count Dracula cape and the DeLorean sports car from Back to the Future III at Profiles in History's Icons of Hollywood sale in Beverly Hills next month.
McQueen's screen-used two-piece Gulf driving suit from Le Mans has a pre-sale estimate of between £125,000 and £187,500.
A few years ago a pair of his sunglasses sold for $70,000.
