Strictly Come Dancing

Peter Andre and Lennox Lewis are just two of the big names to have turned down this series of Strictly Come Dancing - leaving BBC bosses worried that this will just be another year of soap star rejects.

According to the Sun, a source said: "Strictly really wanted Peter Andre. He's got a massive fan base and would be a huge draw for the show. He's also got a body to die for - think of the fun they could have had in wardrobe."

Sadly though, Pete is busy on an arena tour and just wouldn’t have the time to rehearse, but he did tell them to give him a bell next year when he might have more time on his hands.

Boxing legend Lennox was also targeted by bosses who hoped he would prove as big a draw as boxer Joe Calzaghe last year, but he dismissed the idea out of hand - telling producers he's a serious sports star, not a reality TV wannabe. Ouch.

Bosses have also been knocked back by the Duchess of York and rugby star Will Carling, and have had to settle for a string of soap stars, including three former EastEnders stars - Tiana Benjamin, who played Chelsea Fox, Rob Kazinsky (Sean Slater) and Charlie Clements (Bradley Branning).
