Snow Patrol rocker Tom Simpson will face drug charges in court on 31 July (07) after he was arrested on Saturday (07Jul07) for missing a previous hearing. The keyboard player was detained by police at a Royal Air Force base in Middlesex, England just hours after performing at the London leg of Live Earth.He was arrested for failing to appear in court in Scotland to respond to a cocaine possession charge dating back to an arrest in Glasgow in June 2006.Simpson is part of Grammy award nominated band Snow Patrol who shot to fame in 2003 with their album Final Straw.The album which reached number three in the UK charts became the 26th most popular British album of 2004 when it was released in America.They followed this up with Eyes open featuring the popular single Chasing Cars which featured in ER, Grey's Anatomy and The 4400 prpelling the single to number six in the UK charts but number two in the download chart.Simpson was arrested after the band had performed at the Live Earth gig.
