Snow Patrol keyboard player Tom Simpson was arrested on drugs charges on Saturday (7Jul07) just hours after the band performed at Live Earth in London. Simpson was taken into custody at Northolt RAF base after failing to appear in court in Scotland accused of possession of Class A substances.A spokesperson for London's Metropolitan Police says, "A 35-year-old man wanted on a sheriff warrant was arrested. He will remain in custody until transferred."With Simpson behind bars, the Northern Irish rockers have been forced to find a replacement for their set at the T In The Park festival in Scotland on Sunday (8Jul07). The band, who are signed to Polydor Records, formed way beack in 1994 but it wasn't until their 2003 album release Final Straw that they made their breakthrough.The album peaked at number three in the UK album charts and the band went on to tour support U2 on their Vertigo tour in Europe.The band released their fillow-up album Eyes Open in 2006 and it was the best selling album in the UK that year selling 1.6 million copies. It reached platinum status in America.
