Sir Anthony Hopkins

Sir Anthony Hopkins

Sir Anthony Hopkins suffered from "moments of anxiety" during the filming of comic book epic THOR as his character's eyepatch restricted his vision.

Hopkins, 73, relied on others to help him move around the set due to him having to wear a piece of gold metal over his eye as part of his costume when playing Odin, the King of Asgard in the lastest Marvel adaptation.

He said "I had no three-dimensional vision. I felt very embarrassed to be guided onto the set because I'm not that old, but because I couldn't see."

This wasn't Hopkins only problem when filming, there was an earlier problem when the costume designers tried to place the eyepatch on the wrong eye.

"They put it on the wrong eye first of all and I said, 'I think you made this for the wrong eye', because it wouldn't fit." said Hopkins. Thankfully the costume designers had another insert and were able to correct the problem.
