Simon Cowell and his ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour are facing a bizarre court battle with a wannabe chef who is suing the former couple over a pair of sneakers.
The stars have been named in a small claims lawsuit by a woman who applied for a personal chef position at their Los Angeles home.
The unidentified female claims she was forced to remove her shoes by Seymour when she turned up to the house for a trial and was given another set of footwear to walk around the property.
The woman forgot to claim back her shoes, which she alleges had been fitted with $500 (£365) orthopaedic insoles, after the cooking session, and when she returned to get them back, she claims she was presented with a pair that weren't hers.
She is suing Cowell and Seymour for $661.59 to cover the cost of the shoes and other expenses - but the former couple insist they are not at fault.
A representative for the pair tells TMZ.com they attempted to return the sneakers to the chef, adding, "This is a ridiculous story."
The American Idol judge and Seymour have remained close since their split last year (08).
