Sharon Stone is eyeing a career as an author after writing a collection of short stories.
The Casino star is reportedly looking for a publishing deal to have her work released.
Stone insists her tales are not autobiographical or about the movie industry, but are instead a set of mystery "thrillers", according to Fox News.
Stone played the role of a murderous novelist in her famous turn in 1992's Basic Instinct. She revived the role of Catherine Tramell for a sequel in 2006.
However Basic Instinct 2, which had been in production for years, was a box office disaster, as well as being savaged by the critics.
Since this role success at the box office has been hard to come by with moviesIf I Had Known I Was A Genius and When A Man Falls in the Forest failing to make much impact.
Stone currently has Five Dollars a Day, alongside Christopher Walken and Amanda Peet, awaiting release and Streets of Blood with Val Kilmer and 50 Cent in post production.
