Sharon Osbourne failed to attend her father Don Arden's funeral because she was too upset to go. The music mogul - who launched the careers of music acts the Small Faces, Electric Light Orchestra and Black Sabbath - passed away at a nursing home in Los Angeles on Saturday (21Jul07). He was 81. Osbourne was estranged from her father for 20 years, and revealed his violent ways in her autobiography Extreme. However, the pair were reconciled in 2002 after he developed Alzheimer's Disease.She flew back to the U.K. earlier this week (begs23Jul07) with Arden's body in time for Wednesday's (25Jul07) burial in his native Salford in Manchester, England.A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Sharon was too traumatised to go." Sharon Osbourne worked as a receptionist for her father before meeting Ozzy at the age of 17.

Her marriage ato the singer has been far from plain sailing and has, in the past, called herself a 'beaten woman'.

The most nortorious incindent was in 1989 when Ozzy was arrested for attempted murder. Due to a mixture of dring and drugs he had tried to stangle his wife.

After the incident Ozzy spent three months in rehab to battle his addictions.
