Helping out in Haiti has become a full-time passion for Sean Penn.
The movie star moved to the earthquake-ravaged nation last year (10) and helped set up an aid organisation which has become one of the biggest in the country.
The Oscar winner spent much of 2010 raising money and awareness to help starving and desperate Haitians, jetting back and forth between his new home and acting commitments in America.
And in a new Hollywood Reporter expose chronicling Penn's Christmas as a full-time volunteer in Haiti, he explains he was perfectly placed to become a celebrity saviour after the January, 2010 earthquake hit.
He says, "I had nothing pressing (going on)... When I first came to Haiti, the decision was to go for two weeks... As it turns out, I'm still here."
But he insists he still has to work to pay for his divorce from actress Robin Wright.
Penn adds, "I got practical issues, like everyone else... I had just got taken for one half of everything I had in the divorce, so it's not like I don't have to work."
