Sam Taylor-Wood and Aaron Johnson
British artist and filmmaker Sam Taylor-Wood has been awarded with a prestigious Order of the British Empire (OBE) medal.
The director was presented with her medal due to her exceptional services to the arts.
Charles, Prince of Wales awarded the OBE to Taylor-Wood at a ceremony which took place at Buckingham Palace in London.
Taylor-Wood became prominent in the art world for her photography and video pieces, one of her most famous works being David which depicts famous football star David Beckham sleeping.
She the went on to shoot Nowhere Boy, the John Lennon biopic and has also directed the Uberlin music video for R.E.M which stars her fiancé Aaron Johnson.
Taylor-Wood and Johnson are expecting their first child together and are set to marry soon.
