Rumer Willis

Rumer Willis feels sorry for young actors such as Mischa Barton and Lindsay Lohan - because the Hollywood party scene can be a dangerous place.

Barton was allegedly placed under involuntary psychiatric hold at a hospital in Los Angeles in July (09) after reportedly suffering a meltdown, while Lohan's wild antics include two drink-driving arrests, 84 minutes in jail, and a stint in rehab.

Willis, 21, admits it's hard for young stars to cope with the pressure of fame - because the lure of showbiz parties can often lead to ruin.

She tells Glamour magazine, "I do feel very sorry for Mischa Barton. This whole world is very enticing. When you start getting famous it's exciting.

"But I've grown up having to deal with what's real and what's not and I just don't care about that type of thing. I have better things to do.

"I think it's important that the only people you have in your life are people who support you and are positive."

Willis also praised her mother Demi Moore for abandoning her Hollywood career to care for her children - insisting the actress made a great sacrifice for her family.

Moore, 46, stepped back from the limelight in the late 1990s to look after her three daughters with ex-husband Bruce Willis, and became a full-time single mother after the couple split in 1998.

And 21-year-old Rumer, the eldest of Moore's three children, credits her mum for putting her kids before her career.

She tells Glamour magazine, "I didn't realise until I got older. She was at the peak of her career and she left to take care of us, and that's the reason me and my sisters are as grounded as we are.

It was an incredible decision that many other people would not have made. Otherwise we might have been a little bit crazier, so thanks, Mum!"
