Rosie O'Donnell is set to star in a Broadway revival of musical Babes In Arms.
The actress has undergone talks and a private reading of the show with producers who want to bring the Depression-era show back to the New York stage, for the first time since 1937.
O'Donnell will play a chorus girl who helps a group of children put on a show to prevent them from being sent to a work farm.
According to Daily Variety, an official announcement will be made by the end of the summer (09).
O'Donnell last starred on Broadway in a 2005 production of Fiddler on the Roof.
O'Donnell has enyoed a varied career moving from stand up comedy, to sit-com to movies, making her big screen debut back in A League of Their Own with Tom Hanks and Geena Davis.
But it was her talkshow The Rosie O'Donnell Show that brought her to a wider audience in the mid nineties.
